For more than two decades the song that has been heard all over the city at popular festivals is the result of an annual competition that opens up to everyone the possibility of its creation. As it is tradition, EGEAC again invites all the authors to create the composition (letter and music) of the Great March of Lisbon, which will be interpreted by all participating marches, both in the exhibitions of the Altice Arena and in the parade of the Popular Marches in Avenida da Liberdade, on the night of Santo António.
This year, the lyrics of the compositions should cover the theme Lisbon and, cumulatively, on the theme: The Lisbon song – Homage to Vasco Santana.
Vasco Santana, with a career spanning almost 40 years, is an inescapable landmark of Portuguese radio, theater and cinema. The celebrated phrases of his characters, often the fruit of his talent for improvisation, survive to this day. This homage at the Festivities of Lisbon happens when you mark the 120 years of his birth and 60 of his disappearance.
One of the films that starred in “The Song of Lisbon”, made 85 years ago by José Cottinelli Telmo, was a resounding success due to the character of the characters and situations that allowed the spectators to identify with the film, capturing the spirit of the city.
The prize for the winning composition will be € 5,500 (five thousand, five hundred euros).
Proposals must be sent, anonymously, by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt to the address of EGEAC, until February 21, 2018.
All the information about the contest of the Great March of Lisbon must be consulted in the attached regulation and in the sites lisboanarua.com and egeac.com
